Mineral glass is a scratch and impact-resistant glass most commonly used in watchmaking. It has superb reflective properties, strength and clarity and is reasonably priced. Although this is the case, mineral glass remains more scratch-resistant than plexiglass. Mineral glass crystals are coated in a hard material which makes them less likely to be scratched.

5.Metallic cross khukuri logo

Why cross khukuri?

It’s a powerful symbol of unique identity, courage and valor of the legendary Gurkhas. All Gurkha troops are issued with two khukri, a Service No.1 (ceremonial) and a Service No.2 (exercise); in modern times members of the Brigade of Gurkhas receive training in its use. The weapon gained fame in the Gurkha War and its continued use through both World War I and World War II enhanced its eputation among both Allied troops and enemy forces. Its acclaim was demonstrated in North Africa by one unit’s situation report. It reads: “Enemy losses: ten killed, ours nil. Ammunition expenditure nil.”[4] Elsewhere during the Second World War, the khukri was purchased and used by other British, Commonwealth and US troops training in India, including the Chindits and Merrill’s Marauders.[citation needed] The notion of the Gurkha with his khukri carried on through to the Falklands War.

In this watch to symbolize the bravery of the Gorkhas the cross Khukuri logo is metallically engraved.

This motto refers that Gorkhas prefer to die rather than to be coward. Which made Former Indian Army Chief of Staff Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw once to state that: “If a man says he is not afraid of dying, he is either lying or he is a Gurkha.”
